Privacy Notice

This is an English translation provided for convenience. In case of any difference, the Turkish text (KVKK Aydınlatma Metni) prevails.

This notice has been prepared under the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK) and the Communiqué on the Procedures and Principles for Fulfilling the Obligation to Inform, to inform you about the personal data processed when you use our website and book an appointment.

1. Data controller

The data controller is Dr. Beril Arguvanlı. Address: Flora Rezidans, Floor 9, Flat 902, Defne Sokak No: 1, Vedat Günyol Caddesi, Küçükbakkalköy, 34750 Ataşehir, Istanbul. Email: merhaba@berilarguvanli.com. Phone: 0546 287 14 24.

2. What data do we process?

  • Appointment details: your contact phone number, the day and time you choose and, optionally, a short organisational note you leave. For appointments made by phone, also your name and surname.
  • Transaction security data: when creating or cancelling an appointment, your IP address, browser information and the time of the action; the result of the Cloudflare Turnstile check used to block automated requests.
  • Site usage data: only if you allow cookies, statistics collected through Google Analytics such as pages visited and device type, which do not directly identify you.

No patient records are kept on the site. The online form does not ask for an ID number, diagnosis, complaint, test result or any other health data; please do not write such information in the note field.

3. Purposes and legal grounds

  • Creating your appointment, contacting you, reminders and cancellations: KVKK Article 5/2-c (processing directly related to the conclusion or performance of a contract).
  • Ensuring information security, preventing misuse and keeping transaction records: KVKK Article 5/2-ç (legal obligation) and Article 5/2-f (legitimate interest).
  • Measuring site usage: your explicit consent under KVKK Article 5/1. You may withhold this consent in the cookie banner and withdraw it at any time via the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer.

4. Method of collection

Your data is collected through the appointment form on the website, through appointments made by phone, and through the technical infrastructure of the site, partly by automated means.

5. To whom is it transferred?

  • Hosting: the servers running the site and the appointment system are on the infrastructure of Hetzner Online GmbH (Germany).
  • Security and content delivery: site traffic and bot verification pass through Cloudflare, Inc. (USA).
  • SMS: if appointment notifications are sent, your phone number is passed to the domestic SMS provider (NetGSM). Text messages can only be sent to Turkish mobile numbers.
  • Analytics: only if you consent, usage statistics are shared with Google Ireland Ltd. / Google LLC (USA).
  • WhatsApp: if you choose to write to us via the WhatsApp link on the site, the conversation takes place through Meta Platforms, the provider of WhatsApp, under that company's terms.
  • To legally authorised public institutions, upon request and only to the extent permitted by law.

Transfers to service providers abroad are made under KVKK Article 9, within the framework of the standard contracts published by the Personal Data Protection Board and the necessary security measures.

6. Retention period

The name, phone number and note in appointment records are automatically anonymised one year after the appointment date. The IP and browser information in transaction security records is also deleted after one year. The lifetime of analytics cookies is stated in the cookie policy. Financial records are kept for the period required by tax legislation.

7. Your rights

Under KVKK Article 11, by applying to the data controller you have the right to:

  • learn whether your personal data is being processed,
  • request information if it has been processed,
  • learn the purpose of processing and whether it is used in line with that purpose,
  • know the third parties to whom it is transferred, in Turkey or abroad,
  • request correction if it is incomplete or inaccurate,
  • request erasure or destruction under KVKK Article 7,
  • request that corrections and erasures be notified to third parties to whom the data was transferred,
  • object to a result against you arising from analysis exclusively by automated systems,
  • claim compensation for damage suffered due to unlawful processing.

8. How to apply

You may submit your application, together with information identifying you and in accordance with the Communiqué on the Procedures and Principles of Application to the Data Controller, in writing to the address above or to merhaba@berilarguvanli.com from the email address registered in our system. Applications are concluded free of charge within 30 days at the latest. If your application is rejected, the reply is insufficient or no reply is given in time, you may lodge a complaint with the Personal Data Protection Board.
