A Holistic Approach to Child Follow-up
Without waiting for illness, I follow growth, development and vaccinations at regular intervals, aiming to catch problems before they cause symptoms.

What is well-child follow-up?
Well-child follow-up is the set of planned check-ups I carry out at regular intervals while a child is well. These visits happen not because there is a complaint but before one arises: the aim is to follow growth and development along their own course, complete vaccinations on time and notice possible problems before they cause symptoms.
What do I do at a check-up?
- Growth monitoring: I measure weight, height and head circumference and assess their course on your child's own curve.
- Developmental assessment: I check whether motor, language and social milestones are appropriate for age.
- Head-to-toe examination: a systematic examination including heart, lungs, abdomen, hips, eyes and hearing.
- Guidance: we talk about nutrition, sleep, screens and safety as they apply to the current stage.
Why does it need to be regular?
A single measurement is a photograph; follow-up is a film. A slow drift on the height and weight curve can hide behind a value that looks normal at a single visit. In a child who is followed regularly, vitamin deficiencies, metabolic problems, hearing or vision problems and developmental delay are picked up much earlier.
Appointment pattern
I recommend the first visit within the first week after birth. I plan the following appointments to line up with your child's vaccination schedule, so that the examination and the vaccine are completed in a single visit.
Frequently asked questions
Why should my child be examined when they are not ill?
Most growth and development problems show no symptoms early on. Regular follow-up lets us notice a deviation on the curve or a developmental delay months earlier.
How often should we come for check-ups?
More often in the first year (the first week, then every few weeks in the first months), then less often from the second year down to once a year. We set the exact schedule together, based on your child's birth history and progress.
What should I bring to a check-up?
If available, the vaccination card, previous test results and reports, and a short list of the questions on your mind make the visit productive.
