Frequently Asked Questions

When should my newborn baby's first pediatric check-up be?

The first days after birth are important for the baby's feeding, weight change and jaundice, and for supporting the mother with baby care. The timing of the first check-up is planned according to the baby's gestational age at birth, discharge and needs. My own recommendation is to bring your baby for check-ups on days 3, 5, 7, 15, 21 and 28.

How often should I bring my healthy child to the pediatrician?

Pediatric check-ups are not only for times of illness. Well-child visits are planned so that growth, development, nutrition and vaccinations are reviewed regularly. Monthly follow-up is recommended in the first year.

Do you assess only the current complaint at the examination?

No. Alongside the child's current complaint, I care about assessing their growth, development, nutrition, sleep and daily life according to their age and needs.

How do you follow my baby's growth and development?

Along with growth measurements such as length, weight and head circumference, I assess age-appropriate developmental milestones and use developmental assessment tools when needed.

Do you offer guidance on starting solid foods?

Yes. Readiness for solids, starting foods in the right way, introducing allergens, textures and the move to regular meals are all assessed for each baby individually.

Do you follow vaccinations?

Yes. I review your child's vaccination history according to their age and previous vaccines, and keep families informed about the current vaccination schedule.

Do you follow children with cow's milk or egg allergy?

Yes. The feeding history, symptoms and the child's growth are assessed together, and when needed a follow-up plan can be made in cooperation with the relevant specialties.

My child is very afraid of doctors. How does the examination go?

I make a point of giving the child time to get used to the room and to me first. I aim for an examination that is as calm and reassuring as possible, suited to their age and temperament.

What should we bring to the first examination?

Previous test results, hospital or discharge documents, vaccination records and details of any medicines and supplements make the assessment easier. For newborns, birth and discharge information is also important.

How can I book an appointment?
